Three Days Composition Academy (English)
COMPOSITION ACADEMY
Project PPP Composition Academy is an annual program for young composers. In 2019, the academy will take place from 2nd to 4th September in Tokyo, consisting of following events and activities:
A panel discussion with eight Japanese women composers (2 September)
A concert by Nakayama/Kitajima duo (2 September)
Lectures and workshops (3&4 September)

The project PPP’s artistic director Yukiko Watanabe and guest composer Chikako Morishita will give lectures, workshops and lessons to teach young composition students. This year’s focus is ‘Music and Language’.
<<Symposium>>
The panel discussion with eight Japanese women composers will take place. The planned participants are: Noriko Koide, Yu Kuwabara, Tomoko Momiyama, Chikako Morishita, Akiko Ushijima, Ai Watanabe, Yukiko Watanabe, and Akiko Yamane. Woman Composers Meeting 2018/女性作曲家サミット2018 Archive (Japanese only)
<<Concert>>
The masterpieces for violin and/or ‘cello will receive their Japanese or world premieres in the academy’s opening concert by Karin Nakayama and Aki Kitajima. The program includes solo or duo works by Aaron Cassidy, Jürg Frey, Liza Lim, Simon Steen-Andersen and Chikako Morishita.
